Cassie and Hannah Grace!!!!!

                       Hannah Grace Poem
Hannah Grace was born screaming
She was breathing

Mom and dad got to hold her
Our prayer

Due to blood sugar
They had to move her

Moved to the isolate
This was current

Hannah was put on o2
Most babies like her do

Later she got of o2
Opposite of babies like her do

I got to hold Hannah
After mama

She was like a preemie
Because she was so tiny

I picked out her first outfit
Preemie size fit
Under the Billy light
For the night

Next a car seat test
And she passed it

Now got to come home
Her car seat had some foam

I got Hannah some head bands
With my hands

We had a lot of Dr. appointments
That disappoints

Hannah Grace likes to roll her eyes
With disguise

Terri Lynn likes be in Hannah’s face
But with grace
She likes to be awake at night
 In the light
I made her a skirt
When she was alert

I taught both Heidi and Valerie
                                                            That made me happy

Also I made her some tiny pants
Not as small as ants

She was not breathing right
With all her might

Brought her to the hospital
Hannah is so little

She was put on o2
Which I thought they would do

She stopped breathing
What was the meaning?

They tried to save her
She was put on the ventilator

Mom and dad hold her
With care

She passed away on Feb eight
That is not a fun date

Cassie and Hannah Grace!!!!!

This is Hannah and I. I am holding Hannah while I feed her. This is after dinner. Mom was feeding Hannah during dinner and while we where doing devotions. It took longer to feed Hannah than it did for us to eat. so when we where done I got to hold and feed Hannah. While mom was cleaning up after dinner I didn't have to help clean up until Hannah was done feeding by the time Hannah was done they were almost done cleaning so I didn't have to do much. This is one picture that we have that I am feeding Hannah after dinner I fed her other times after dinner but we didn't get any pictures.

This is a picture of me feeding Hannah again this time it is at Children's. We were in the special room that Children's had for moms to go in and feed their babies. There were two chairs in the room,  mom was in one pumping and I was in the other chair holding and feeding Hannah.

In the car when we are going somewhere and Hannah needs to be fed I will hook up Hannah to her machine and feed her. I had to do it a lot and  most of the time it was on are way to Children's. On our way there and on are way back Hannah needed to be feed so I hooked Hannah all up and fed her. Sometimes when we were in town she needed to be fed too.

Pray for Lilly

Here is another special picture that Hannah's cousin Lydia made really special!

Pray for Lilly

I have been following this "Pray for Lilly" blog.  It is about a little girl who is now over a year and has full Trisomy 18.  She was born in July 4, 2010.  I love reading this blog as Lilly's mom is always so positive. She reminds me of myself in her day to day actions with Lilly.  I also sent Lilly one of Hannah's outfits that she was given up never wore.  Lisa, Lilly's momma, has a picture of Lilly in the outfit in her blog.  Cassie also made a blanket for Lilly and a couple of headbands.  There is also a picture of Lilly with these items too.
Lilly is also from a homeschooling family!

I wanted to tell you about Lilly so you can pray for her.  She is having an open heart surgery to fix her VSD on November 3.  If you think about it pray for sweet Lilly!

Some Thoughts From Hannah's Mommy (10/12/11)

Here is another sweet picture Hannah's cousin made really special!  Thanks Lydia!

James 1:17
17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

As I was reading the other day through the book of James.  I read this verse and started to cry.  I knew God was telling me Hannah was a good gift from my Father in Heaven.  He gave us Hannah as she was a very good gift.  The only thing is I miss my very special gift!  Hannah is truly a blessing to us and we have so many good memories with her.    I am so thankful God blessed us with Hannah as a good gift from Heaven.  How much better of a gift could I ask for?  Hannah loved us wholeheartedly and we loved her back unconditionally.

Hannah has been in heaven for now 8 months,  there is not a day that goes by that I don't miss my sweet gift from God.  She blessed us so much!  I sure miss her though.  I wonder daily what I'd be doing if she were here with us.  I also at times wish we would have been blessed with more days with her.  But then my husband reminds me her job here on earth was done.  God called her home to be with Him.  Hannah is in a much better place!

Pake and Beppe Come!: Day 47 (1/22/11)

Cassie stitched "Little Miracle" on this little jacket.  Cassie found this at Walmart all by herself.  She did this all to surprise us!  She did such a great job!

Pake and Beppe Come

The last time we went to Costco, Cassie secretly picked out a jacket for Hannah.  I really had no idea what she had in mind.  I was excited when she came upstairs with the pretty pink jacket which she had stitched "Little Miracle" on it.  It was beautiful!  Ever since Cassie made this jacket Hannah, I made sure Hannah wore it alot!  What a great memory now!  Thank you Cassie!

Today Pake and Beppe (my mom and dad) came from Oregon.  They arrived in the afternoon.  When they arrived they hugged everyone and of course snuggled Hannah!  They are so proud of Hannah and how well she is doing!  What a blessing to have them here!  Tonight, Beppe sat up with Hannah rocking her in the rocking chair so I could have a good sleep.  I slept good but Beppe was tired when I came out of the bedroom at 1am.  But of course Beppe was so happy do it!  I love you, mom!

Psalms 1
1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Maggie Comes to Visit
Today we did our morning routine.  I got out of bed when Hannah needed feeding next.  Usually no one would come into my bedroom to wake me up these mornings.  The kids gladly helped me with breakfast.  We usually would eat together.  It was such a blessing to me to have my older children help me make breakfast.  They gladly did it!  Even Nathan would help!

Every feeding I am supposed to be giving Hannah the pacifier with breast milk on it. These days Hannah does not do to well with this practice.  She may last for a minute or two but no longer.  She just gets to tired and lacks the interest in the pacifier all together.  I will keep trying!  :-)

This afternoon, we had the pleasure of a visit from Kim and Maggie and Jimmy.  Maggie is a couple weeks older than Hannah.  Kim was so kind to come visit us and meet Hannah.  I am so thankful that she did come.  I am so thankful we have a couple pictures of Hannah with her friend!  Many just don't understand how important a quick visit and how meaningful a quick visit can be to someone!  I look back on this special visit and it makes me smile!  :-)

Matthew 5:3-12
3Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

The NG Tubes Gets Pulled Out

This morning as I was getting ready for the day,  Cassie comes to me in a very worried manner.  She tells me with tears in her eyes that Terri Lynn pulled Hannah's NG tube out of her nose!  Oh man my heart sank!  I need to feed Hannah now! And what to do?  What to do?  I tried to call my friend Marcie but she did not answer.  I thought I could take her to the Doctor office but that would mean like another hour or two wait to feed her!  I decided to tackle my fear and try to put the NG tube in to Hannah's nose and down to her stomach!

I ran through my mind the steps I was taught on how to put her tube back in.  I called Rick to tell him to pray!   I just was so stressed I decided to close myself in my bedroom and not have the children watching me do this to Hannah!  I know the children were praying for Hannah and for me as I was working on this task.  I started to put it into Hannah's nose and she started to cry right away.  I got worried and pull it out again.  I gathered up my strength and prayed for God's help.  I tried again at least 2 more times.  I just kept getting worried as Hannah was crying that I was putting it into her lungs.  Finally I got it all the way in no trouble.  I had to work quick to get the tape on her face.  I also needed to check to make sure the tube truly was in her stomach.  I had to pull some air into her stomach and listen to the woosh of air go into her tummy with the stethoscope.  I heard the woosh the first time. Praise the Lord!  I started to cry and weep.  I felt so much stress and pressure to get that tube back in that I was so overwhelmed.  Once the tube was put back in I just let the tears come! I told someone that putting that tube in by myself was traumatic!

Praise God I get it back in.  Here is the story of how Terri Lynn got the tube out.  Cassie was sitting on the couch with Terri Lynn sitting right next to Cassie and she was playing with the end of NG Tube.  Cassie stood up and Terri Lynn had the tube in her hand.  The tube stayed with Terri Lynn popped right out of Hannah's nose.  Cassie said Hannah cried a bit but not much.

I called Rick to let him know:  the news that the tube in back in and how traumatic it was on me!  Then I sat down and fed Hannah.  Then we went on to do school.  At noon Hannah had a feeding therapy appointment.  She did not do well at this appointment because she was so tired!  She kept falling asleep as did not suck on the pacifier.  It was actually a waste of time to come to this appointment.  Oh well!

My friends, Dalee and Meighan and their families came over for a visit.  Hannah got to meet Molly and Olivia.  I was really wanting a picture of Hannah with a baby so we could see how small she was.  We took a bunch of pictures!  Meighan and Dalee and I spent some time praying for Hannah!  What great friends I have!

Thank you to Dalee, Rylee, Bradee, Nadalee, Lyndsee, Samuel, Hannah, Elizabeh, and Olivia and Meighan, Kolby, Ben, Julia and Molly for your visit!  I'm so glad you came to visit!  We so enjoyed your company!  Thanks for praying for Hannah, also!

Ephesians 6: 13-17
13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
 14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Love you Hannah,  Sandi Kwant (Hannah's mommy)

Video of Hannah!

A sweet video in the middle of the night of Hannah!  She was not sleepy.  In order for me not to get frustrated I'd take a video or do something positive like write a note or clean a room of course with Hannah in my arms!
